The Glacier Lagoon is one of Iceland’s most popular attractions, and for good reason. The glacier and its surroundings offer ever-changing, spectacular scenery. Getting there from Reykjavík requires a long but beautiful drive. A private day tour usually takes 13–15 hours, including stops. For a more relaxed experience, we strongly recommend a 2-day tour, which allows you to enjoy the journey at a slower pace.
Massive Icebergs, break off the outlet glacier and float inside the lagoon. Over time they drift towards the ocean. Just across the road lies the black sand shore known as Diamond Beach. Ice fragments often cover the beach, creating a striking contrasts as they slowly melts.
